Everybody Poops - What Your Poop May Be Trying to Tell You

I have to admit up front, this is going to be the crappiest article I've ever written.

You see, as I was walking my dogs Marty and Rosie the other day, it occurred to me that poop plays a huge role in my life. I'm not afraid to admit it. I pick up after my dogs every day, I scoop my cat's litter box every day (OK, not EVERY day, but it certainly feels that way), and I talk with my clients about their bowel movements. In fact, while I was in India this past summer, poop was actually the number one topic of conversation between my colleagues and me, as we compared notes on who had diarrhea and who was still healthy. I even remained on "poop watch," for several weeks after my return to the States, making sure that everything was OK (and thankfully, it was!)

So, if you are a pet owner, parent, health care professional, or world traveler, you probably know what I mean!

Everybody Poops - What Your Poop May Be Trying to Tell You

But many people don't get to talk about poop as much as I do. I know this because when I ask people about their poop, I often get blank stares and uncomfortable looks. So, I let's talk about all of the questions that people want answered but are usually afraid to ask. After all, your poop is an important indicator of your overall health!

What is Poop?

Have you ever wondered what poop actually is? About 75% of your average poop is water, although this will vary depending on the person. Water is absorbed out of fecal material as it passes through the large intestine, so the longer you take to "go," the drier your poop will be.

The remaining 25% is comprised of dead bacteria that helped us digest our food, living bacteria, protein, undigested food residue (also known as fiber), waste material from food, cellular linings, fats, cholesterol, salts, protein, and substances released from the liver and the intestines (such as mucus).

What Makes a Healthy Poop?

Your feces are a clear indicator of the health of your gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Mehmet Oz says, "At the end of the day you can analyze your body really effectively by looking at what comes out of your body."

So what should you look for? A healthy poop will be:
Golden brown, which is due to pigments formed by the bacteria in the gut and bile from the liver. You want to make sure the color is normal because that tells you a lot about what's going on in your gastrointestinal tract (more on color below). Formed into one long shape. Dr. Michael Levitt, an Australian colorectal surgeon who has written a book called The Bowel Book, says that the healthy human stool resembles the shape and consistency (although not the same color) of an unripe banana. Dr. Oz says " You don't want [pieces]." Some experts disagree, saying they don't have to be well- formed. Patrick Donovan, N.D., a naturopath in Seattle, WA says "Stools don't have to be well- formed logs. They can disperse in the toilet water; they can break down." Nearly odorless. About 1 to 2 inches in diameter and 18 inches long.
What About Other Colors?

Sometimes we don't see that "golden guru," and are faced with something else instead. Here's some insight into what those other colors might mean.
Black: Feces can be black if dried blood is present in it from internal bleeding in the upper digestive tract. See a doctor if this is the case. Very Dark Brown: Drinking wine the night before may result in dark brown poop. This could also be the result of eating too much salt, or not enough vegetables. Yellow: One condition that can cause yellow poop is an infection known as giardia, a dangerous infection that can spread to others. Another cause of yellow poop may be a condition known as Gilbert's syndrome. See your doctor if you are consistently seeing yellow poop. Green: Babies often have green poop when they are given food for the first time. Children may have green or blue poop from certain illnesses or from ingesting food colorings. Adults may also have green poop if they eat large amounts of green, leafy vegetables or if they eat large amounts of foods with green food coloring. Light green poop may indicate excessive sugar in the diet. Green feces can also occur with diarrhea if bile salts pass through the intestine unchanged. Again, see a doctor if you are concerned! White/pale: Feces can appear white or pale after drinking barium sulfate, which is often given to patients getting an X-ray of the digestive tract. A white or pale stool may also be an indication of problems with the gallbladder or liver. Red: Bright red in the feces may be indicative of active bleeding, possibly the result of hemorrhoids. A magenta color may result form eating intense red food coloring, or red foods such as beets.
How Often Should I Poop?

Ah - the big question! Experts disagree on how often a person should poop. The National Institute for Diabetes, Kidney, and Digestive Diseases says three times a week is normal and healthy for some people. According to Ayurveda, an ancient Indian healing system, once a day is ideal. Other experts advocate once or twice a day, while still others say a person should have a bowel movement within two to three hours of a major meal- -or two to three times a day. So you can see that it really depends on who you talk to. My personal opinion is that you above all want to be regular in your pooping schedule, and that one poop a day is ideal.

When someone poops four times a day or more and the poop has a liquid consistency, this is referred to as diarrhea. When someone poops less than two or three days a week and the poop is hard, dry, and difficult to pass, this is known as constipation.

What's the Deal with Corn?

It's funny, so it's ok to laugh. But most people I know have experienced it and they ask why it is that when you eat corn, the next time you poop there it is again! There are a couple of reasons for this. One is that most of us do not thoroughly chew our food. Another interesting tidbit I've learned that there is an outer coating on corn that is made up of indigestible cellulose. This outer coating slips off the inner kernel and, since it's indigestible, passes through the gut intact. It then emerges looking like a whole kernel, even though it's just the outer skin. The inside of the kernel is starchy and digestible, and that is the part that we succeed in chewing and digesting.

Well, hopefully you know now a lot more about this important topic. And that's the scoop on poop!

How To Create An Effective Business Development Strategy

The Business Development Strategy is used to underpin your main Business Plan and essentially it sets out a standard approach for developing new opportunities, either from within existing accounts or by proactively targeting brand new potential accounts and then working to close them.

This document highlights the key issues you should consider prior to compiling your own plan and will hopefully guide you logically through a proven framework.

Big Offers

The key word is 'Strategy', because you are creating a workable and achievable set of objectives in order to exceed your annual target.

How To Create An Effective Business Development Strategy

Your Starting Point:

The key words are Who? What? Where? When? Which? Why? How?

For example:

Who - are you going to target?

What - do you want to sell them?

Where - are they located?

When - will you approach them?

Which - are the appropriate target personnel?

Why - would they want to meet with you?

How - will you reach them?

If you have conducted regular account reviews with your key accounts during the previous twelve months, you should be aware of any new opportunities that will surface during the next twelve months. You will also, when assessing what percentage of your annual target usually comes from existing accounts, need to review data over the last two or three years. (It is likely that you can apply Pareto i.e. 80% of your business will probably come from existing accounts and in fact 80% of your total revenue will come from just 20% of your customers/clients)

You will be left with a balance - i.e. "20% of my business next year will come from new opportunities" - therefore you can then begin to allocate your selling time accordingly.

Ideal Customer Profiling:

Pro-active business development demands that we create an ideal target at the front end - i.e. an Ideal Customer Profile. The essential characteristics you will need to consider are:

- Industrial Sector

- Geographical Location (Demographics)

- Size of organisations (Turnover, number of employees etc)

- Financial Trends

- Psychographics - i.e. Philosophical compatibility

Many strategic sales professionals merely profile their best existing clients and try to replicate them - there's nothing wrong with doing this but we should always remember that we are seeking an IDEAL and we can always improve on what we already have.

'New' Opportunities From Within 'Old' Accounts:

Because it costs approximately ten times as much, to first locate and then sell to a new customer as it does an existing one (although these costs are rarely reflected in the cost of sales), it is essential that we fully develop our existing accounts working upwards, downwards and sideways, thus making the most of the (hopefully) excellent reputation we have developed already.

Most corporate accounts have several divisions, departments, sites, even country offices and you must satisfy yourself that you have exhausted every possible avenue. Don't be afraid to ask the question "Who else should I be talking to in your organisation"?

Developing New Opportunities:

There are a number of ways in which we can target new opportunities e.g.

o Direct Mail

o Telephone Canvassing

o Researching Archived Files For Customers Who Used To Buy From Your Company

o Exhibitions

o Seminars

o User Groups

o E-Mail Campaigns

o Referrals

o Qualified Leads

o Advertising

Not all of these will be appropriate to your particular industry, but you should not be afraid to experiment - i.e. challenge the paradigm - and do not accept that just because a particular idea has not worked in the past that it will not do so in the future. (Remember when you were learning to walk - it didn't work first time then!)

The important thing is to make an early decision in terms of what you are going to try and then build this (those) ideas into your master plan.

A Typical Business Development Plan:

You should plan out the whole year and review / revise quarterly.

o List your existing accounts and plan what activities / actions need to be completed in order to fully exhaust all opportunities. You may for instance, plan to cover more bases within the decision making unit or contact associated companies or offices. The Strategic Account Profile can be used as a prompt.

o Begin to target new accounts using business directories etc. and set targets per week / month / quarter i.e. I normally allow for eight hours per week as a minimum (Don't forget to continually refer back to your Ideal Profile)

o Then build in what assistance you need from your marketing function - i.e. qualified leads, seminars, exhibition attendance etc.

o Finally share your plan with your manager and then commit to it.

You should also measure it against S.M.A.R.T.E.R. i.e. is it.

Linking With Your Commercial Plan:

I have suggested that your Business Development Strategy, would link with your Master Business Plan but logically you should also integrate it into your Commercial Kit(this is a document that outlines your monthly, quarterly and annual targets) - specifically the areas that deal with new business generation, account management and development, four tier account lists etc.

These three documents when combined should drive and guide you through the next twelve months and beyond.

Summary:

As I have said often enough "People do not fail because they planned to fail but rather because they failed to plan"

The man who knows where he wants to go is more likely to get there, he just has to decide how to get there. All plans are essentially maps and guides; the strategic element is the 'How'.

Do be prepared to change course, flexibility is key, and don't be afraid to experiment, look outside the square.

Repin Paintings

Ilya Repin was a famous Russian artist from the 19th and 20th century. Repin was a key figure in realism painting and his best paintings included Religious Procession in Kursk Province, Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks to Sultan Mehmed IV of the Ottoman Empire, Ivan the Terrible and his son Ivan, Barge Haulers on the Volga, St Nicholas of Myra in Lycia, Ceremonial session of the State Council, Pushkin Reciting His Poem Before Old Derzhavin, Portrait of Leo Tolstoy and Emperor Nicholas II.

The painting of Ivan the Terrible with his dying son is an intensive work combining the madness and aggression of the father against the calmness and quietness of the dying sibling. Religious Procession in Kursk Province was also another of his best paintings. It captured a complex scene of Russian social classes and tensions during a religious procession. It was another of Repin's political paintings where he would try to address the social situations in his native Ukraine and what is now Russia. The best paintings of Repin can now be found in State Russian Museum, St Petersburg and the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow.

Visual Graphic Arts

In conclusion, Ilya Repin is an important Russian realism artist who preferred to address political issues within his country of the time and helped him to become the chosen artist for many high ranking officials of the time. Repin was also a sculptor during his career, but it is his paintings which have retained the most fame.

Repin Paintings

Russian art fans still like to buy his best paintings as reproductions and the complexity and history in them remains much loved. Repin is now seen as a progressive, bold artist both in his style and his subjects and has been copied by "Socialist Realist" artists in the USSR. Repin is followed by some with a kind of cultist passion. Repin remains alongside Caillebotte as one of the best known realism artists.

Used Welding Equipment - How to Get Good Deals on Used Welders Using Craigslist

I know you have heard of Craigslist, but do you really know how to use this internet classified website to your advantage for good deals on used welding equipment?

Most people I know just pull up Craigslist and enter a search term like "Lincoln Invertec welder" and go through the results one by one shopping for the best price on a welder. That is the extent of their shopping online for used welding equipment.

Big Offers

But there are a few tips and tricks that will help you get the best deal on a Craigslist welding machine.

Used Welding Equipment - How to Get Good Deals on Used Welders Using Craigslist

Tip #1  Craigslist only allows you to shop by location on their site but if you want to get an idea of what price you an expect  you might want to search all of Craigslist.  The way to search the whole country is to either go to Google and type Craigslist.  Usually the first result also provides a search box that lets you search all items on Craigslist regardless of location.  The other trick is to just enter an advanced site search into Google search box  for example if you were searching for a miller tig welder you would enter this into the Google search bar:

miller tig welder site:craigslist.org

What you will see next is a bunch of listings of the different Craigslist cities that have listings that include the term "miller tig welder".

Tip #2  Another Tip for getting good deals on used welding equipment is to search your local Craiglist listings for mispellings.  Mispelled words like linclon instead of lincoln or sycrowave instead of syncrowave will sometimes find you good deals that have not been snatched up yet simply because people are not seeing the listing due to the misspelled word.

Tip #3  If you are shopping for a big and expensive item like a miller syncrowave 250 or 300, You might think about looking at cities that are within driving distance.  I have a friend who did this and wound up driving from Atlanta to Nashville but got a good Miller Syncrowave 250 for about 00.

Since some of them sell for around $ 2000, it was definitely worth the drive.

Tip #4  Insist on seeing a real picture of the welding equipment.  Too many listings just use a photo snagged off the web.  If a seller is not willing to send a real photo...walk away from the deal, period.

Japanese Cartoon Art

Japanese cartoon art has been one focal point to the introduction of Japan to the whole world. We have gotten to know more about Japanese culture and how the country has risen to become what it is now. Many of this art are shown in the many animated cartoon series and movies. Video games have also shown Japanese cartoon art and just like the movies and series they have been accepted internationally. The world of animated art has seen Japan create lots of animated movies and series that have been accepted wholly by the whole world.

Most of the Japanese cartoon art is usually three and two dimensional and you will find the use of bright colors is always in constant use and help create a montage of various color use. The cartoons are able to look life like because of the use of the colors which help in creating a more realistic look at human emotion. This way we are able to tell if the cartoon is angry or annoyed, by the red cheeks and also if they are sad or sick they usually turn different colors or more pale than usual.

Visual Graphic Arts

However the colors are not the only thing that the Japanese artist uses to denote emotion. The use of the large western like eyes is also used quite frequently and many times I have always wondered why the use of western characters, have become a big theme in most of the Japanese animated movies and series.

Japanese Cartoon Art

I guess its because the whole world looks to the west as the main super power countries and it is easier to use them as characters in the animated movies.

Binary Options Trading - An All-Or-Nothing Proposal?

Binary options are simple trading instruments which generally pay either a high, fixed return or nothing at all. Hence the "binary". There can be only two possible outcomes to a trade: win or lose. For these reasons binary (or digital) options are also often referred to as "all-or-nothing" options. And this is mostly an accurate description of the situation but doesn't quite tell the whole story. But first a little more on this relatively little-known financial instrument.

Binary options, like traditional options, are available on a variety of underlying assets. With stocks, indices, commodities and currencies being the most popular assets on which to base trades. However, unlike traditional options binaries pay out a fixed, known return which isn't dependent at all on how far "in-the-money" the option is. If the asset you placed a call option order on is higher than the strike price by so much as one pip/tick then you are paid out the same high returns as if it finished in the money by 100 points.

Lets look at a short example shall we?

Keeping it simple we'll use the S&P 500 in our example. Lets assume we are bullish on this index overall, and specifically over the next week (though it could be month, day, hour, or even less in some cases). We open a binary call option on the S&P500 for $1000, expiring in one week, and offering a return of 78%. Fast forward a week and the S&P, after both ups and downs, finishes just 1 point above the price we bought it at a week ago. Well, in this case we would be paid out $1,780 on this successful trade.

But what if we had been wrong? Well in that case we would be returned nothing in most instances. However, as hinted at earlier this isn't always the case. A few select binary options brokers actually offer significant returns, up to 15%, on losing trades. A structure like this can be far better for those new to binary options trading or the more risk averse than the standard structure where nothing is returned on losing trades.

The most popular broker offering this structure of returns is Anyoption. Anyoption offers a flat 15% return on all losing trades and returns from 61-71% on winning trades. There is a trade-off involved. You sacrifice some potential returns on winning trades in exchange for that security of a 15% return on your losing trades. For the more risk tolerant or experienced binary options trader it may not be the best choice but for the beginner or more risk averse choosing a broker who offers some returns on losing trades may be something to consider.

Founded in March 2012 to educate traders about this exiting but relatively unknown financial instrument. Our goal is to widen the trading community and help make better binary options traders, and brokers.
